I have had a 60CSX for years, and I just purchased a Montana 650t. So far the old 60CSX seems superior. Here are four issues I'm having. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!
1 - While sitting motionless on my desk, with all the usual satellites loaded properly, the Montana says I'm going 3 mph, and, within half an hour says I've travelled over 400 ft.
2 - The elevation plot seems very wrong. Regardless of whether I let it calibrate or set it, it shows nothing like what actually occurred. Today I started at 1200 ft altitude, and it showed that I was at 1200 ft. I cleared the current track, turned on tracking for intervals of .01 mile, and, with some ups and downs, I descended 800 ft over the course of 2 miles. I did not go higher than 1200 ft, and I did not ascend at all. I simply descended 800 ft, yet it says that I started at 1669 ft and descended 1200 ft down to 462 ft:
Total ascent: 544
Total descent: 1601
Max elevation: 1669
Min elevation: 462
3 - Each time I go into Track Manager, choose a track, and then choose Elevation Plot, the graph is totally wrong, and unrecognizable. Then, if I exit and go back to Elevation Plot again, it then shows the correct track.
4 - On my Montana, there are many tracks saved. But, when I go into MapSource and upload, it sees only two, and they are corrupted. They look like the unrecognizable graph in Elevation Plot described in #3. However, I do see all the files when I access the GPS as a drive letter.
Thanks for your help - Larry
