I could not find an automotive thread section. Into sports is the only one listed for me. If there is an offical Garmin forum for vehicles, please point me in the right direction.
I have had a StreetPilot 2730 for years. It still works but the touch screen is failing. I just bought a Dezl 560. I am a truck driver and one of the features on the SP 2730 was the find POIs near current route. Most truck drivers are on a point A to point B route. It is greatly helpful to search for POIs near current route.
It is good for road trips in cars also. Say you have an Exx-ell feul card. Putting in destination and getting the route calculated. Then by searching for Exx-ell gas staions "near current route" would let you know where they are and can see where you can plan stops. Oh, there is an Exx-ell in the town that Big Jim was born in. I am stopping to get feul there and site see.
As a trucker, I could use the POI loader and put in my own POIs in, like company feul stops, customers that I have been to already, ect. Then search near current route for places to stop for feul, or that little dinner that has the best burger.
If the Dezl has this feature, please let me know how to find it.

Edit: I found the temperairy setting for Near>My Active Route. It works for Points of Interest, Favorites, Exit Services, Parking, and Cities. Dezl is not using that "Near>My Active Route" setting for NTTS, Recently Found, or Extras>Custom POIs.
I understand that for most people, that would be enough, but driving 48-states and Canada, I will have more than 1000 locations/favorites (stated in the specs tab on the website). The StreetPilot 2730 would hold, I think, 2000 favorites. I use favorites for customer locations and reminders of places I am passing in my travels that I can't stop at now, but want to the next time I am passing through. When I stop at these places, I get the coordinates and other info and add them to my Custom POIs.
