Garmin Connect allows you to specify in settings whether you wish to use BPM or % max HR as values on the watch. Personally I much prefer % MAX HR. If my max HR ever improves or changes, all I will need to do is change that single value and the percentages will adjust accordingly. Percentages are obvious, BPM isn't on a scale of 1 - 100 and so isn't as easy to work out in terms of effort level.
When creating a custom work using heart rate as a target, I can't seem to see how to get the workout to use % Max HR? The only option I can find is BPM. Surely this is wrong? In GTC you can chose either BPM or % max hr.
How can I create a custom workout to keep me between 71% and 85%? So that the watch will show my hr rate moving up and down in terms of %age and notify me when it moves outside these zones?
On another workout I may want to don 60% - 74%, so using custom workouts is imperative for me.
