'Explore' not searching ?

Anyone else have the issue with Explore not searching the current Map View area as it defaults back to my locality (Dublin, Ireland)..?

Since the Google map option was added to explore, I've not been able to use the "Current Map View" option. It constantly just defaults to London, 60 miles away.

If I type in a location, it just does a 5 mile radius search, which is no good for cycle routes etc.

Absolutely rendered the Explore feature useless in my opinion
  • I'm having the same problem using Chrome. Searching the current map just takes me back to the location that first showed up when I went to "explore activities and courses". Is there any fix to this? It's really lame!
  • Same here

Multiple computers, IE, opera, etc. Searching in the current map view is no longer working. I used to use this feature to scope out mountain bike trails ini the middle of nowhere. Now I cant do this anymore....

    GARMIN PLEASE FIX!!
  • Same problem here. FF and IE, always defaults back to Santa Clara when using searching "Current Map View". So disappointing as I was trying to find rides far out from any city.

Multiple computers, OS's, browsers...same problem at the worst time of year (when we're all traveling and trying to find routes wherever we're spending the holiday). One of the best features of Connect crippled again. It finally started working again this year...how is it possible that this feature keeps getting screwed up?

Yes, this has been driving me crazy for a month now.

I just figured out you can search starting from a latitude/longitude.

e.g., enter "50.86, -115.36" in the "Starting Near:" box, if you want to see who's been skiing at Mt. Shark.

This is a bit clunky, because you have to get your latitude/longitude from Google Earth or whatever, but it works.

That's a great work-around...thanks! So that means the base search logic works but they're just not getting the position from the "Current Map Location" correctly. That should take a couple of minutes to fix, right, Garmin? (echo...echo...echo...crickets...).

    Thanks!
