New changes made to Garmin Connect

It looks as though Garmin has quietly put in place some of the things that we have been asking for, and they have fixed some of the minor bugs that have been bugging us.

I was running a report in GC to check my total miles for this calendar year. While doing so, I noticed that new report options were added, to include This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This year, Last Year. (side note: I tested and found that This Week and Last Week are defined according to each user's settings for First Day of Week.)

It also looks as though the Activity Types get accumulated in reports correctly now. For example, selecting "Cycling" for a report will include all of the sub-categories of cycling, such as Road Cycling or Mountain Biking.

I could be wrong, but they also might have added some new activity types(?).

The "What's New" section of the Help Screen says that lap swimming data fields were added to support the 910xt, and a new "favorites" feature has been added.

They also fixed the bug in quick edit on the Activity Detail screen. It now allows you to change the activity name using quick edit, as it used to before they broke that feature with their previous update.

Has anyone else noticed any other changes or fixes? If you have, please share the info.

Looks like the move to Google maps may be short lived if this is anything to go by https://forums.garmin.com/showpost.php?p=115109&postcount=7
  • what garmin gives, garmin takes back

yeah, some good things and then some strange stuff. The splits screen no longer has the altitude gain and loss fields- which is a pretty useful piece of information. Also, the little elevation chart on the main screen for me now starts at 0msl, then quickly jumps up to my start elevation of 2700ft. So, the whole elevation profile is so compressed it doesn't tell you anything. weird.

Previously it was possible to change the scale for elevation view but now it has disappeared. That is quite strange. Fortunately it is possible to change the view by making a selection with mouse and then zoom it... anyway I liked more of the possibility to just change the scale with a zoom button.
