1490 issue with latest map upgrade!

I bought my 1490 as a gift to myself just about a year ago. Big screen plus lifetime map upgrades and lifetime traffic, yippee!!!

Installed on my nuvi was US & Canada (2012.20) so I went to install the new upgrade (2012.30). About halfway through the installation I recieved and error message, not enough memory, choose another option.

Obviously I'm disappointed. One year old and not enough memory? I sent Garmin a note to see if there is something they can do to correct this.

Anyone else had a problem???

Yep, happened to me too. I downloaded the update to my computer and used Mapsource to write the whole kit and kaboodle to my uSD card, no problem with memory there.

I guess I didn't expect my lifetime maps not to work without a few extra steps in less than a year.

I sent Garmin a note and no response yet.

If adding a Micro SD card solves the problem, I'll be fine.

problem with 1490T new Map 2012.30 update

I have a PC running Windows 7 with a very fast internet satelitte server 4.8 MBPS and was not able tu run Garmin upgrade. Neither the option 1 or option two are working.

I used my daughter's laptop with Windows XP on the same server and was able to upgrade the maps in less than an hour.

Garmin software is not compatible with Windows 7.

    best,

I just installed a smaller set in the main menu and then put the remaining maps on the SD card. The nuvi will read smoothly from either location when running.
