Missing speed limits on Nuvi 1300 ?

You won't find that information for Texas roads.

The table on page IV of the manual indicates that for the 1300, Speed Limits on Map feature is available in Europe only.

Garmin seems to have many variants for all their models and I advise that purchasers research these so they get what they want. Unfortunately Garmin doesn't make this easy as they omit information. That said the data can be found through Google etc. I find this site very useful

PS: Generally the lower the model number the less features it has. For example the 1300 has basic features while the 1490T has everything even though they share the same software.

Candidly, the unit that was stolen was not an expensive one. I ASSUMED.
.( you know what they say about that!) that each unit had similar features. Surely one so important as speed limits ...and now..lane assistance.

I am going to write Garmin to see if there is any way I can swap my 1300 for the better one, without too much of a price killer. thanks Rich

Yep, just the way it is.I sent my unit back and bought a 1850 ( I think) with all of the features. Only $20.00 more.

I do not understand the apparent decision by Garmin to drop speed limits from my about four year old Nuvi 1350LM. Is this because I finally bought a microSD card and loaded all of Canada and the US? I used to have only the Mid-Atlantic US because I could not fit any more in my Nuvi. Did I do a bad thing by purchasing memory? Did that hurt my device features?

Speed limit data is embedded in the City Navigator maps. There are roads for which no speed limit data is present but for most places it is present. My 1490T which is the most feature rich version of the 13xx/14xx models shows speed limits just fine.

In short if your model supports displaying speed limits (the 1350 does) and the maps contain the data you'll see them.

Amongst others I have a 1310. Speed limits are shown. I believe it's only the 1300 from the 13xx series that doesn't. Lane assist is also shown but not junction view. That is only on the 14xx models.
