eTrex 30 not showing streams

I have spent the past three days going crazy over this. I have explored every single menu item to try and fix this. I have reinstalled the maps on the device and still no luck. I have changed the detail, etc, etc.

I am planning a trip and when reviewing the waypoints I did on BaseCamp, I noticed that the stream wasn't showing (I am planning a canyoneering trip). I need to follow an intermittent stream first that drains into the main canyon. Neither stream shows up on the map.

Here's the funny part. One of the first things I did with my eTrex was to go test it out in a local hike. That mountain has at least 4 intermittent streams throughout. Then, all those streams were showing. I know this for a fact because I am planning a trip on uncharted territory and I distinctly recall looking at it on my device and when placing the arrow over it it was labeled "intermittent stream" per the usual. This leads me to believe that it isn't necessarily a malfunction, but user error on my part. I must have done something in the settings but I can't find what!

One more note, I have the TOPO U.S. 24K West maps installed. I'll also add that when I saw the streams, I was using an old version of BaseCamp, like 2.1 or something. I have the most current one now, so I am not sure if that can be it.

Okay, so I knew the fix was going to be really simple and I was going to end up feeling silly. I guess when looking for the solution I overcomplicated things and never bothered trying the simpler things. So it was a REALLY easy fix, and feel silly for sure. I opened up the menu while looking at the map, selected Restore Defaults, and voila! While my problem is fixed, I'd still like to know what I did. I tried to reverse engineer this, and now can't figure out how to remove streams. I'll note that the Detail remained at Most, and didn't revert back to Normal. So I have no idea what I actually reset back to default.
