Unable to send GC workout to device

Last week I downloaded a workout from my Garmin Connect to my FR 405. This week I wanted to download a second workout but have been unsuccessful.

I thought that perhaps my device can only hold one advanced workout at a time--so I deleted the original workout that I had downloaded last week in hopes of replacing it with the new workout.

This however, did not work. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I suspect that I am missing a step in the process or need to activate something....I am new to Garmin and haven’t been able find an answer on my own.

Here is what I am doing:
On the Garmin Connect/ myConnect/ Workouts:
I click “send to device” then I receive a message stating “Found Forerunner 405”.
I then click “send workout”. A new window pops up stating that Garmin Connect is unable to send power duration and power target to my device but asks if I want to send the workout anyway…as I don’t have either of those selected in my workout—I click “ok” to send it anyway.
The next message states “Workout successfully sent to device”

On FR 405:
Training/Workouts/ Advanced: “None Found”
I’m not sure why it isn’t there—where is the workout?

Additional info:
The Garmin Ant Agent connection status is “Active”. I was just able to upload today’s activity from my 405 to GC—the problem seems to be receiving information from GC to my 405.

Please let me know what I need to do to download the workouts to my device.

Thanks a bunch!

    Same here

I don't have an answer to your question, I just want to say that I have had the same exact problem. I just bought a Forerunner 305 and when I went to upload a workout, I got the same message:

"A new window pops up stating that Garmin Connect is unable to send power duration and power target to my device but asks if I want to send the workout anyway…as I don’t have either of those selected in my workout—I click “ok” to send it anyway."

I'd love to know the answer, too.

Exactly same description! It's beginning to look like a bug...

Update--I contacted product support and they were able to help me resolve this issue.

    Here is what I learned:

The Forerunner 405 currently can only support 1 workout at a time from Garmin Connect. The message that comes up about power refer to cycling activities and should not affect a running activity or a simple cycling activity.

When you transfer a workout from Garmin Connect to your device, it will automatically erase the previous workout and put the new one on.

If you are using Internet Explorer, we will want to ensure the site is added under Trusted Sites:
    1) Open up Internet Explorer.
    2) Select Tools
    3) Select Internet Options
    4) Select Security (tab)
    5) Select Trusted Sites (icon)
    6) Select Sites (button)
    7) Remove the check from the box that says “Require server…”
    8) Type in ‘connect.garmin.com’
    9) Click Add
    10) Click Close and then OK

Try transferring again and after it says workout successfully sent, double click on the ANT Agent icon. Here, in the bottom third of the window, it should state that there is a pending transfer to the device.

    This worked for me.

    Thank you ZPAULA...

You're instructions worked for me as well... Though I had to restart Internet Explorer after step 10 to make it work :)
