Device ID

Hey guys,

Let me introduce myself. I,m new on the forum.
I'm Phreedz (Netherlands), former owner of an EDGE800.
Just lost it last Saturday.
My question is: Does Garmin collect the device ID, during uploading activities.
Could anyone see the device ID when the thief, who's stolen my EDGE, uploads his activities to Garmin Collect?
So I can see that the stolen EDGE is in use.
Technical question I suppose?
Thanks

    Sorry to hear about that.

The answer to your question is YES. I just exported one of my uploaded activities as a .fit file, opened it and the Unit ID is listed near the end of the file - so technically it is possible..

Practically, the bad news is that if the thief's activities are locked as private no one else can see them. You would probably need to approach Garmin to see if they were willing to do a search in the data ...
