Laps on map incorrect, Odd time rounding

I tried a search and didn't see anything immediately pop out at me for this issue.

Normally I use auto-lap at 1 mile increments, but decided I would manually "lap" for a race today in order to have the splits match the course marking. I found the course was poorly marked (and I possibly ran awful tangents) and also noticed the activity in Garmin Connect shows really weird lap marks when I click "Laps" on the map view.

It was a 13.1 mile race, thus I had 14 laps (13 x approx 1 mile, 1 x 0.1 mile in a perfect world). I only see it plot 7 lap markers.

Any ideas?

For this activity: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/125047790

Secondary comment, I think it is funny how the activity rounds time. My 1:34:59.5 was rounded to 1:34:60 (1:35:00 maybe makes more sense?)

Well I opened your GC link and saw the 14 laps and sure enough, only 7 show on the map.

I opened one of mine in GC that has 20 laps and sure enough, only 10 show on the map.

It appears that there is a default setting that only allows every other lap to be marked. Probably done that way to reduce clutter on the map but it would have been much more clear to us users to number the flags 2, 4, 6, etc so it would be obvious that you are looking at flags for every other lap.
  • Hi,

Same issue here. Actually I think the setting to show every other mark was already in the past, but before numbers of the flags will match the lap numbers instead of being simply sequential.

BTW, I also had the funny rounding numbers... will hopefully be solved soon.

    Regards,
    Fabian.

    ditto

similar probs here with lap markers. markers sometimes show at start of lap rather than end and are often at inconsistent intervals i.e. not one mile intervals. any news of a fix?
  • Laps incorrect on maps

I am now having issues with the laps being incorrect on the maps. It seems that the lap number is now indicating the start of the lap instead of the end and on one of my maps it's only showing 5 laps when there were 26 laps. The 5 showing are not in the right place to be laps one through 5.

I'm having the same problem! My lap markings were working fine until just the last couple weeks or so. I ran a half marathon on Oct 16; uploaded it the next day; lap markings were correct. Now, any new activities are incorrect, as are the previous activities. That half now has lap markings #1-7; yesterday's 10K has 1-7, with 1 being at the start. I am not happy. I need this remedied.
