Montana Serial Port and Rugged Mount

I am having using the serial port on a Montana 600 fixed to an AMPS Rugged Mount. The Garmin Seial protocol works ok but the NMEA, TEXTOUT outputs and RTCM input do not. Has anyone successfully these protocols on a Montana? Can anyone suggest what may be wrong with the setup?

Yeah, I wish they'd fix this. I have an open service ticket about this since September! My APRS doesn't work with the Montana.
