Hello All,
I am brand new to this GPS phenomenon, so please bear with me.
I purchased a Garmin nuvi 1450LMT and am slowly learning how to use it. I have figured out how to load a route and decided to test it out. The route was about 11 miles long and the unit was spot on with giving me directions with no surprises. The one thing I did notice was that the route was about 2 miles longer than how I would have drove which I thought was pretty good. Hopefully this error does not get worse the longer the route.
I have a couple of questions to throw out and hopefully some of you that have mastered these units can help me out.
First, when one is driving a route and you let’s say you want to get something to eat. You punch up places of interest, select a restaurant, press go and then follow the directions to the destination.
When you are ready to start driving the main route again, how do you get back on course?
Second question is what happens if you shut the unit off? When turned back on will it pick up where it left off?
I have tried tinkering around with the built in simulator and it appears that when you shut the unit off it resets. The manual does unfortunately leave a lot to be desired when it comes to a newbie trying to learn. It just touches the surface of the features, but does not give you a step by step what to do scenario.
Any help sure would be appreciated.
Mark
