Maps out of date

Earlier this year I brought a Nuvi 1690 with life time maps for my wife. I was expecting at the price I payed that the maps would be up to date. But they not.
Near where I live we have a new 11 miles bypass opened over a year ago and it still not showing on my Garmin I have all the latest up dates.
For work I have a Tom Tom which I payed half the price for Ok I have to pay for maps. But they are up to date and this bypass has been on it from just after it opened. My son has Copilot live on is Iphone and it's on there and this cost him under £20.
And for the time it take for up dates is a joke.
This is not what I expected from a £200 Sat nav. How Garmin justify this?:confused:

    Just seen your post. I see it was posted a couple of years ago - are you still using Garmin?

    I made the same complaint the other day about the maps on the Garmin Connect site. Those maps have now been updated. I agree that it is pretty shocking that dedicated GPS hardware is using old maps while cheap iPhone apps are up to date.

    Maps still out of date one year after major changes made to highway.
