Edge 500 Stopped Recording Data (HELP)

My Garmin Edge 500 stopped recording data 3/4 through a ride a couple weeks ago and has not recorded any information since. I threw out the corrupt file and a few more. The firmware is current. Is there any way to reboot the system to get it functioning again. Can I wipe it clean and reload the firmware?
Hi, Had the same problem. No data for four rides. Checked all settings to no avail. Got the Garmin Updater App. Did a full re-installlation. Deleted all historical data. Went for a ride. Bingo!!! Data recording successfully resumed. That worked for me, may be same procedure will work for others?
Fredcb1 - I'm having the same issue with a Garmin Edge 500 (it was in my brothers equipment box, he upgraded a year ago). Where can I find the "Garmin Updater App" you describe?
