How is possible that almost two years I asking the same question and still nobody has answered this simple question?: Why garminconnect units can not be in nautical miles? How is it possible when many people are using the garmin nautical activities? How dificult is adding units in nautical miles and knots? But especially, is so difficult to answer? Two years asking the same thing? Anybody have the same problem?

i guess because non of the Garmin sport devices are designed specifically for nautical activities...although you can use it their are not designed for that activity type.
Well, I cannot understand that. Garmin has an entire line dedicated to water sports and sailing and my Garmin Foretrex has units in nautical miles and knots. Therefore should not be a problem of equipment. I have in my account Garmin Connect a several sailing races several races in which I participated. It is curious that in the Garmin device all data is in nautical miles and knots and when I upload to Garmin Connect cannot keep these units. Add nautical miles in a Garmin Connect preferences I think it isn’t a great effort. Thanks for your post.

I'm agree with you. Probably it isn't a great effort for them to implement it in Garmin Connect. But with Garmin you never know....firmwares full of bugs...Garmin Connect upgrade resulting in a big mess making them to roll back to a previous version, not implementing things that USERS like us consider it basic, etc. That gives you and idea on what we are dealing with. In my specific case (cycling) i gave up with Garmin Connect starting with the fact that Bing maps has 0 coverage on my area so it's completely useless for me. that's why i actually use ridewithgps.com. So i think it will be easier for you to find another web based platform that meet your needs or you can wait for several planets to align in a specific way that makes Garmin take our opinion as users to develop a better Garmin Connect :)
Thank you very much for your advice. Finally i will try to do this. I consulted a friend at NASA and he said that will pass be long until a planet is aligned positively for that Garmin listen us. It is so curious that a company that specializes in that people will not be lost, lose the ideas of their users. :)
Thanks for answering. I think no human works in Garmin. I think it’s a company created by robots. That’s the reason I never answered me ... I guess. :)
:) good to hear that you have a friend in NASA :D and you are right sometimes i think that their answers are written by robots. i remember one time when i have an issue with my nuvi GPS and send them a ticket support explaining the device issue and also explaining that i have registered the unit and update the firmware via web updater. after a few days i receive an answer inviting me to register the product and try to solve my issue updating my device via web updater...i mean doh!!! come on that's not a human answer...it's been 3 month since the problem and i'm still waiting an update to solve the issue. so if your friend has any news on the planet alignment matter just give me a shout here!!!! :D :D
