1490T USB Disconnects

Hi All..

bought a new garmin 1490T, installed the software on my windows computer, but it seems that the USB connection is not stable.

I am using the garmin usb cable that comes with the box, I plug it in, you can then hear the noise on the windows xp machine to show that it is connected. The screen on the unit shows the connection.. but about 3 seconds later.. the noise on the windows xp machine states that the usb dropped the connection.. I look at the garmin screen and it is rebooting up into the main screen and the connection sync is gone.

Because of this, I cannot load the latest maps on the device.

Do you guys think it is a bad usb cable or is the usb port on the actual device screwed up?

I tried this on many different windows xp machines and the same problem!

thanks
Tom
