A favour : HRM to TCX

Hi

I have failed miserably to find anything out there that will correctly convert my tacx fortius HRM files to TCX so I can load them into GC. They either lose power, HR or Speed, or a combination of all three. I've tried TCX Converter, SportsTrack ( from HRM to FitLog to TCX - no joy ) and I'm not paying for MapMyRide to help either.

So, the best way is to roll my own. Don't suppose anybody out there could let me have a small TCX which contains Power? I have loads of my own which has HR, Cadence and speed, but I spent my money on the tacx and not a powertap!! Power is stored in an 'extensions' tag in the TCX and isn't documented ( well ) on the xsd.

Email address is my login id ( no spaces ) at gmail.com.

Many thanks and I will post the software once complete back to the community.

Cheers

Angel.
  • This problem has now been fixed with Mathias Krallmann's excellent FIT file repair tool. This tool can be used to import .hrm, .tcx, or .fit files. Repairs can then be made if the file is corrupted.
The file can then be output into .fit or .tcx file formats.

I have now converted 15 .hrm files from Tacx Fortius/Tacx Training Software into .fit format. They have been successfully loaded into the following applications:

    PC:
    Garmin Training Centre
    Training Peaks WKO

    Internet
    Garmin Connect
    Trainingpeaks
    www.strava.com

Data shown is Heart Rate, Power, Cadence, and Speed (strava will only show an average speed).

The application can be found at:
