I have searched.. Really I have. My question is simple and the answers I have did not come from the Garmin forums and is really conflicting.
I spent all weekend and all of last night trying to update my maps on my 250W to 2012.20. It seems the map updates have out grown the internal memory of the device.
I finally got it figured out. In the process, I discovered how to load map sets on the SD card. Not a big deal to most, but this feature was not available with earlier versions of mapsource so I never tried again.
My 1st GPS was a street pilot, then a street pilot III, now the 250W.
Anyway.. the question:
What is the max SD card size & type I can use on the 250W?
I have read that it depends on the system software. My 250 has software version 4.00, Audio 2.20, and GSP software version 3.00s.
I have read that only a 2gb standard card can be used. I have read that any sd card can be used up to 16gb and sdhc.
I currently have a 4gb sdhc card and would like to use a 16gb now that I have figured out how to get mapsets loaded on the card and the device to read it.
I travel a lot.. I find that loading large map sets from the sd card, the unit is slow in booting and calculating the route. I want to load smaller map sets but have them all on the sd card and only select the ones I want to use at the time.
Thanks.
Edit: I found this: https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B9dec4ad0-954a-11dd-f60b-000000000000%7D
So I guess anything will work.. There is no explaination of class though (speed class). Will a new C10 work?
