550t connect minor issue

I have been using my 550t for connect purposes. Unfortunately, this unit isn't optimised for this purpose and that shows in some small annoyances. One is that "upload" when the device is in spanner usb mode only shows the "current" track. This does work, assuming you go straight from your activity to your computer and upload, it sacrifices some data, primarily heart rate info. To get heartrate info to work the track/activity must be saved at the conclusion of the workout. Then the activity must be manually uploaded via usb mass storage mode, a few more clicks on the whole but this actually sacrifices some other data, mainly for some reason the device data is missing.
The Oregon supports wireless ANT data connectivity, I expect this may solve the issue since it can send most any data while in normal operating mode I don't have a computer ANT connector to find out.
An example of the manually uploaded with some data missing activity from this afternoon OFallon north ride, recorded by Oregon 550t
Basically does anyone know if there is a functional way to use the 550t for maximum the maximum data it does support?
