Nuvi1690 Currency. Can I change default setting?

Newbie here... is it possible to change the factory default settings for currency on my Nuvi1690 Sat Nav? When the feature starts it's Dollar & Euro, but whatever currency I select (GBP & SFR for instance) is lost once the feature is closed, reverting back to Dollar & Euro. How do I get it to stay on GBP & ANOther currency?
