Switch to Nike GPS?

Anyone have any feedback on the Nike GPS, specifically the online weblog? Was thinking of switching, thought maybe the on-line community is larger (compared to the "explore" area in my city). Also, all these GarminConnect issues leave me aggravated each time I try to download. Figure I could get $100 for my 110 on e-bay, it's pretty much brand new...

Check out the Nike forum at: http://forums.nike.com
I think they are having issues with their 1st generation device.

    Don't "Do iT"

As a long time user of Nike+, I can certainly tell you Garmin puts more effort towards running, then Nike does. I am somewhat new to Garmin and Garmin Connect and have noticed quite a few things Nike has on them but Garmin has more Pros then Cons compared to Nike having more cons then pros.

Nike's site is horrible and runs completely off Flash, it is an absolute nightmare. The Nike watch has far less options then even a beginner's watch from Garmin.

Nike constantly has support techs on the forums writing exhausting long winded messages how they know things are quirky but great features are on the way. They have literally been saying this for over 2 years. Numerous times not able to login, website so slow and sluggish you walk away without even uploading your run, no calender to check your progress.

What I would like to see in Garmin connect?
Interaction between other Garmin users. Duh? Why doesnt this exist???
Also Facebook posts. Garmin can at least state how far I ran when it posts to Facebook? And last but not least, which is the biggest thing Nike has on Garmin (Still not enough to switch) Team Challenges with friends!
My average mileage would be no where near what it is without team challenges.

So whoever here is fed up with Garmins quirks and have never been to the Nike side....... you will be blown away by their inefficient ways of doing things.

Like someone else said, just look at their forums. Lol not too many people on there praising them for their amazing work.

Before getting a 610, I had the Nike+ GPS watch, and all I can say to you... well Michael words it so perfectly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31g0YE61PLQ

I've had nothing but trouble, the watch and website seem to be in alpha phase after several years. I was very happy to find out I could bring back the watch to the store and change it for a Garmin.

    Just Say "No" to Nike+

I just switched from the Nike+ Sportswatch to a Garmin 405. The Nike watch is a POS, but looks cool. The features were very basic and for running only. I was fine with that, but then I had trouble losing data and ultimately, the watch just failed and wouldn't connect at all. You also can't change any settings directly on the watch, so obviously, my watch became a boat anchor. My guess is that someday the Nike+ will be great if they stay committed to the product, but the current version is basically good in form only. Function is garbage!
