Max Speed error

Every once in a while I'll get a top speed from my downloaded data that is incredibly high. For example: I spent five hours on mountain trails Friday at an average speed of about 6 miles an hour. Max speed reported was 82 mph! :eek:Should have been somewhere around 28 mph. Same thing for yesterday. Max speed reported at over 60 mph. It's kind of pissing me off!:confused:

I have the same issues with my 705. My max speed shows 3,000 mph.
I also have an issue with wrong max cadence: 200+rpm.

I have the max speed problem with my Garmin Edge 605, too. The latest activities have been showing the max speed between 5000 and 6000 km/h.

The same happens with Win7+Firefox+(official) Garmin Connector plugin and Linux+Chromium+(unofficial) GarminPlugin.

Uploaded some activities midday Aug 01 and some yesterday Aug 5 and the max speed was correct. Activities that I uploaded during the max speed problem are still 100x wrong.

Seems like they fixed the problem on new uploads but previous uploads with jacked max speeds are still jacked.

I manually edited those activities to the correct max speed and that seems to work.

Once again I am getting incorrect maximum speeds recorded in connect - TC and Edge 705 'agree' on a maximum speed, Connect however seems to be showing a maximum speed of 40.0mph 'regardless'. The last two trips have had max speeds of 39.8 mph and 37.4 mph respectively. I accept that connect was fixed to sort out the '4,000 mph' error but this is something new. Has anyone else noted the same anomaly? Many thanks.

I don't see a fix for this. Was one ever given? My Edge is correct on the unit, but when I upload the Max speed is way off. Last week the max speed was wrong in the details view, but the graph was correct. Now the graph is wrong too with my rides from this week. It seems I must be missing a fix for this as the last complaint about this was September 2012. Any help? Thanks.

Same problem here. Max speed of 235 km/h while running. -> I don't think so!!

Also: Garmin connect does not filter these out. See http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/483477768

I know I can export gpx fles, edit the file and import it back in, but that too much hassle for me.
