I have Garmin 500 Edge. I have hard reset it a few times and it would work ok for a few cycles, then it would go back to "Auto-PAuse" flashing on screen and i am cycling a good speed. Then "Resume" comes on again and my proper speed is working. The CADENCE etc works ok whilst this happens. My time stops and speed is zero. It is like i loose GPS. But I am out on the open road and the next day it will work in the same location no problem. Does anyone have solution to this as when i come back I see only 30 miles done and actually done maybe 40.
I had similar problem with an Edge 305 that was a warranty replacement. I'm pretty sure that it was a problem with the GPS system.
To check this, display GPS accuracy as one of your data fields and watch it when you ride. I usually start with 18-25 foot accuracy. During the ride, sometimes it will drift up to maybe 30 feet, but if things are working correctly, it will drift back down in maybe 30 seconds or so. But on the Edge that had a faulty GPS, it would drift up and up, sometimes to be greater than 100 feet, and would really struggle to get back down.
