Guru Help wanted - corrupted TCX

I did the same basic route twice following my 705 instructions and on the device, both history files are there and appear to have the right data available, yet GC says one is corrupted.

Looking at the file sizes, the faulty one is about 170k and the correct one is 300k.

Anyone able to offer any insight or fix ?

Many Thanks

    Thank you DATEZZ.

Any insight into why the device has started doing this - judging by the original occurrence it appears to be unwilling to complete the creation of the tracklog, and stalls with the last lap incomplete.

My original course, had two of the three laps appended but not the last and on this one I had no laps set, so the whole course was omitted.

I'd like to solve the 'why' as I don't want to keep relying on your good graces after every ride !

I have no idea. These electronic gizmos just drive me nuts.

In 2010 my 705 started giving me trouble with auto laps and shutting off mid ride. I cleared the GPX folder and the History folder and reloaded the software using WebUpdater and then turned the 705 on with a hard reset. The 705 will already be off after updating.

“To hard reset the unit turn the unit off, hold down the mode button and turn the unit on. When the unit asks if you want to erase all user data, select yes. After resetting the unit, leave it with a clear view of the sky for about 30 minutes to acquire the satellite almanac.“

Make sure the battery is fully charged before starting. When the almanac thing is done the 705 will display a data screen or maybe the map with the arrow at your current location.

My 705 has worked perfectly ever since. Might work for you.
