Can a map be "fixed?"

Not exactly sure how to phrase my question, so I hope it makes sense.

I own a Forerunner 305 that I use as a bike computer. This morning my wife and I went out for a ride on one of our local forest preserve bike paths. When we got back to my car, I hit the stop button on the 305 and was looking forward to uploading the info when we got home. Before we got home however, we had to make a stop at the grocery store. I waited in the car while mi wife went in. While waiting, I was looking through the data, and I accidentally hit the start button. I stopped it right away, but it "recorded" those 2 seconds as a lap.

Didn't give it much thought until I uploaded the ride, It showed the correct point at the forest preserve as my starting point, but it showed as my ending point the parking lot of the store, not back at my car in the preserve.

I deleted that activity, and then went in the 305 and deleted the lap, but when I uploaded the ride again, it still showed the wrong ending point.

Is there any way I can fix this, or do I just have to overlook the wrong ending point on the map? It's not that big of a deal, but I'd like to be able to correct it if at all possible.

Thanks in advance for any info provided.

:)
  • If you post a link to your activity, or post the tcx file, somebody here might be able to fix it. No promises.

And for the record, the proper way to end an activity is this:

    - press the start/stop button to stop the timer and accumulation of distance
    - press and hold the lap/reset button and wait for the 3-2-1 countdown. This resets the timer and distance, and it stores the activity to memory as it's own file. That way, if you accidentally do what you did today, it would be a separate event that could easily be deleted by itself.

Not sure how to post the tcx file, but HERE is the link to the ride.

Thanks also for the info on ending the ride. I thought doing the reset would wipe the info from the 305.

TCX Converter will allow you to edit it out.

Garmin Mapsource will too, here is how to install it if you don't have it.

Thanks for the info. I have to get ready for work, so when I get home this evening I'll work on it and see what I can do.\

    Thanks again.
