Can new features be downloaded to Forerunner 305

Can new features developed for the Forerunner 305 be downloaded to my current 305 or will I need to wait until I buy a new one that has them built in?

There were some firmware updates for the Forerunner 305 that added features and fixed bugs, and you can (and should) load those into your 305. The current version of the 305 firmware is 2.90.
