POI's for different location?

I have an Oregon 550t.
When I am at home is it possible for me to research POI's in a different location? For example, I want to look for restaurants that are in a town 100 miles from me as if I were physically in that other town. And I'd like to be able to do the same thing with my Geocaches.

Probably should have put this in a different sub-forum.
My mistake.

To do what I asked:
Push the Where To application.
At the bottom of the screen there will be an icon that looks like a target.
Select that icon.
Now use one of the next items (Like Recently Found) to find a location in
the 'different location'.
Once the new location is selected the original menu will re-appear allowing
for searching for POI's etc.
The same approach works in the GeoCaching application.
