Hello,
This weekend I took part in a cycling event that saw me ride over 100kms on day one and 45kms on day two. I used my Garmin Edge 205 to track both days and everything appeared to work fine.
When I plugged in to upload, day one was missing the map data. I read through the FAQ and saw this:
Why don't some activities have a map and route associated with them?
Activities don't have accompanying maps and charts/graphs due to a variety of reasons:
1. The activity may have been recorded indoors (i.e. a gym workout) where GPS tracking is not possible.
2. The activity may have been recorded using a non-GPS device.
3. The activity may have been created without a device altogether (Manual Activity).
4. The activity owner may have uploaded a large history from a device. In this case, older activities on a device have been compressed without any GPS data.
Now, since this was outdoors and not manually created, all signs point to #4 but this is a brand new activity, not an old one. My question is, would this happen to a new activity if the device is full? If so, could I manually delete old activities on the device itself? And lastly, is there any way to get the map data from this new activity?
In a possibly related note, my goal for the month isn't reflected properly, being short the amount from the activity that has no map data. I found it strange since even though the activity has no map data, it still shows the distance cycled.
Thoughts on this at all?
