I have finally been able to log on to this forum after a week or so of it continually saying I've been putting in the wrong username and/or password! Ugh...

Anyway, I have this same question, as it isn't discussed in the manual. Would I just need to pull it (the cradle) straight off the mount (basically this is taking the ball-like think out of the cradle)? Or is there a specific and safe way to do it. Or, is it just not supposed to come off?

    Thanks for any help.

Mine has a little tab that I pull on, and it loosens one spot and then the entire thing lifts off evenly.

If yours doesn't have the tab, try sliding a fingernail or something under one spot to get it started and to break the seal, and it should then come off easily.

Wow, and here a Garmin rep is telling me I need to pull it straight off like a bottle cork. Lmao.

Can you post a pic of the tab you're talking about? Just so I'm sure.

This photo shows the tab, at the rear of the suction cup, under the fastening lever.

You mean the darker part at the bottom with those two ridges? If so, you mean this will loosen the grip on the ball? It doesn't seem like it would do that (looks like that tab loosens up something else) but I guess you're right.

Just to avoid confusion, I'm asking how to remove that ball piece out (that you attach the cradle of the GPS to) and not how to remove the suction cup from a windshield.

Yes, I just now realized that you are talking about the ball at the top.

That does require the "wine bottle pull" like the Garmin person told you. Sorry I misunderstood your original post.
