gpsmap 60CSx with an endless peep when turned off

Hello, I have a GPSmap 60CSx with the original sd card, that I formatted and where I successfully transferred the map. I used rechargeable batteries. It has been for months that, when I turn it off, it starts peeping and the only way to stop it is to take off the batteries. I called the Garmin support in Spain, where I live, and they sent me an email with an updated software version. I installed it but it didn't solve my peep problem. Do you have any solution for it to suggest?

Thank you in advanced

Take the microSD card out and see if this solves the problem. Let me know if it did as.
Also, are you using a Mac or a PC to connect to the GPS?

    no sd card no peep

I took off the SD card and it doesn't peep if I turn it off. I put the card inside again and the problem came back.
I use a Mac at home and a PC at work. I transferred the map from the PC but usually I transfer tracks from my MAC.
    What should I do?
    thank you

Easy to solve then. It comes from some invisible files the Mac puts on the card and they are not cleaned when you pull it out without unmounting it.

Download a free app called "CleanEject" (http://www.javawa.nl/cleaneject_en.html). After loading maps to the microSD card, whether the card is installed internally or on an external reader/writer, run CleanEject -- it deletes all invisible files on the card and immediately dismounts it. It has worked for me every time.

I think that this should do it for you!

You could also copy the needed files on the card, reformat the card and that would solve it for now, but my previous solution gives you a better tool, IMO
