unable to change current location

Hi, I have recently bought Garmin nuvi 1490t and while using it keeps on "acquiring satellites" - have tried outdoors and indoors, with and withour gps simulator on - I see by default it picks up the location from Illinois, I did try changing the default location to my CA address but unable to do so.

Also, I did try reset but of no luck.

Any pointers?

Leave the GPS in full view of the sky for 30 minutes or so. Let it do its thing. Patience. It only takes that long (and generally not that long) the first time it acquires its almanac.

Should that not work, download Webupdated from Garmin and apply it. Make sure your battery is fully recharged before doing so.
