1490t keeps rebooting in car

i bought a refurb unit and before updates,after updates and following every possible answer to stop this unit from constantly rebooting and thinking its connecting to a computer.I tried it while unplugged and drove around the same areas... not a single problem !!! maybe just maybe I think the biggest problem is these FM cords or faulty cords to begin with. has garmin or anybody else researched this? if i could afford a bunch of garmin gps units i would test my theory out with the 1490t and others.
I have a refurb 1490T and it works flawlessly with the Garmin cord. You may have intermittent power to your 12v socket, a car problem, but sometimes the car plug is not tight enough in the socket. Try wedging it with a piece of paper (make sure it is not covering the contact points on the plug). That solved the same kind of problems with other devices.
Did you ever figure out what was happening with the constant rebooting?
My 1350t does the same thing. It keeps trying to connect to my computer when I am using traffic car charger.

Have you tried using it in another car, to see if that makes a difference?
