Navigating a (handheld) route questions - 60csx

Hi
I'm using a 60csx. I have a few questions regarding operation. I use the device for running in the mountains (all offroad) with a series of routes uploaded. The uploaded routes are madeup of waypoints. I would like to know:

1. How do I ensure these waypoints do not appear on the map view while navigating. Seeing the point is ok, but I dont want to see the name of these waypoints , I would like to see other user waypoints however.

2. Can I set a proximity alarm for approaching a waypoint, but not for leaving the proximity?

3. "Time/time to dest" on the "trip computer" or on the "compass" pages : Even though I am 'navigating' the route , it alwys gives the time to the next waypoint along the route, not the final waypoint. How can I set this so that it considers the end of the route as the destination?

4. Map tracking current location. If i go though savedRoute>active>map the map will be centered on my current location , but with the map pointer active. What is the difference between this , and going straight to the map page? One tracks and the other doesnt ? and when its tracking, and I move the map pointer, it then ceases to track. WHats the correct procedure here?

5. I couldnt quite understand if I am able to purchase (online or on dvd) maps that upload to 60csx, or do I need the 62? I want ordinance survey type, not roadmaps.

APologies if these should go into seperate threads - they all seem quite related to one task , so I'm posting them together. Any and all help with any of these questions will be greatly valued!! - thanks!

Well, you can have different maps, from different sets displayed on the 60csx. But you are limited to 4MB and 2025 map tiles and they all have to be compiled together in a single img file.

The 62s, OTOH accepts several img files and can display them (even together, depending whether they are transparent or not). You will find that the mapping part of teh 62s is really easy to use.

Both can display road and topo maps. Generally, the Garmin road maps are not transparent. OTOH, my 62 displays both topo and aerial pictures on the same screen.

You mentioned ordnance type maps and I guess you are from the UK. I know that these do work with Garmin units but there have been some snags here and there, hopefully someone from the UK will chime in here.
