I am a converted Lowrance iFinder C user and so far I m really happy.

I have mine installed with the LakeMaster chip (for full disclosure, not sure it is relevant). The one thing I noticed is that while driving down the highway, my track is consistently about 100 or so yards off (south) of the road I was on. I had good reception, but it seemed to be consistent no matter where in the metro area I was driving. Has anyone else seen this?

I love everything else about this unit. It is acquiring me extremely fast when I turn it on (unlike the Lowrance which could take 20 minutes or more, then finally stopped all together).

Any thoughts?

I would not expect any roads on a LakeMaster microSD card map to be very accurate and would not be surprised if they're "100 or so yards off". If you want road maps for your 60CSx you should look at the City Navigator North America map product.

BTW if you buy a DVD, rather than preprogrammed microSD cards, you can view the maps on a PC/Mac. You can also load the maps onto your own card(s).

That is a good point. I haven't actually tried it without the chip in. I was assuming the roads were in the unit, not the chip. I'll give it a shot and see if it is any better.
    Thanks!

I was assuming the roads were in the unit, not the chip.

The unit contains a "basemap". This has even less detail than most map products so if anything the roads will be worse.

As I've already said if you want detailed roads maps you need to purchase them.

Or you can just Google for free street maps, Open Street Maps. They can be good in some areas, less so in others. YMMV, but worth a shot.

One caveat though. If you have/download your own maps, don't write them to the pre-programmed uSD card as they will overwrite the data on the uSD card. Use your own cards and the 60csx can only have a single img file, so if you want maps from several sources, they need to be compiled into a single img file using Mapsource.
