Changed Routes Not Sending Correctly

I can go to either google or mapquest and do a search for directions and send that to my Garmin. If I don't like the given route I make the changes with the tools available and click "Send" and the screen comes up with the available destinations and my route. The changed route is there but when I send it to my Garmin it is not the route I configured.

This happens on both Google and Mapquest. I have done it numerous times and double checked to be sure I am not missing a step but still cannot get it to work

Would appreciate any help on this matter.

Found this on another forum:

"On the Specifications page for the 255W it says "Routes -- 0".

That means your unit cannot save and store routes, which also means it will not accept routes from Mapsource. It will tell Mapsource that it received okay but since it cannot store them it just ignores them."
