Edge 305

Last night I plugged my Edge305 into my macbook and retrieved my tracks, then after about 20 minutes noticed the unit was very hot. I unplugged it and now it will not turn on.

I have tried soft and hard resets, neither work.
I have tried charging with Garmin wall unit, does not work.

Unit is still recognized and communicates via USB however it will not turn on.

Any suggestions? Unit older than one year.

BTW, what do you do them when they are kaput? There is a "No Trash" icon on the unit......

I would contact Garmin support. Even if it is out of warranty sometimes they offer a reasonable deal on a refurbished unit. Since you have to send in your current unit to get the refurb unit, that also solves your question about how to dispose of it.
