Hi everyone,
Thank you in advance for your help.
So currently I have a garmin nuvi 205.
I was hoping I could get some advice on whether I was capable of doing the task below on my current GPS or if I need to purchase a more expensive one to do the job.
Summary:
Loading routes into gps unit through gpx files converted from routes created on google maps.
I want to be able to create a route on google maps, and then convert that file into a gps file to insert into my GPS unit (currently attempting to use http://www.elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx/#). So I converted a route into gpx format using that website and then loaded that file onto a micro sd card and then inserted the card into my nuvi 205. I cannot find anywhere in the 205 menu options to open the file.
The reason I would like to take advantage of loading routes onto my gps is I want to use it on my motorcycle for navigating backroads with lots of waypoints.
If this is not possible on the 205, any recommendations for units capable of this functionality?
Thank you so much for your help!
P.S. Here is another website that is really interesting how it converts existing gpx files to be viewable on google maps.
