Chrome support

I know this has been asked a few times, but what I have found out that is the new version of the Communicator plug-in, v1.8, supports Chrome. How come Garmin Connect does not use that?

If I use this page: http://developer.garmin.com/web/communicator-api-1.8/examples/garminHelloDevice.html I can view my device with Chrome.

But if I use this page: http://developer.garmin.com/web/communicator-api-1.7/apidemo/garminDeviceDisplayDemo.html it does not work.

So it seems a bit odd that you have created a plug-in that you do not use yourself.
  • Yes the garmin plugin will install in Chrome:

    http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/

Visit that page with Chrome and you will see. You totally missed the boat/point of my question which was, "Why does the new communicator plugin support Chorme, but connect.garmin.com still does not".

If I try to upload a workout with connect.garmin.com, I get the following message, "Garmin Communicator Plugin is not supported by your browser..
" which used to be the case for version 1.7 of the JAVASCRIPT api, but not now for the 1.8.

The install plug-in that you are trying to refer to is version 2.9.3, so please try and look at my question first.

    Chrome support for Garmin Connect

I concur that support for Garmin Communicator within Garmin Connect, using the Chrome browser (for me using MacOSX 10.6.3) is not working.

I can use Garmin Communicator on the test page and also on other websites like GPSies and MapMyTracks.... just not on Garmin Connect.

What is weird, is that I could have sworn it worked last week. This week it just says "Garmin Communicator Plugin is not supported by your browser.." which is clearly not true since it works on the test page and MapMyTracks just fine.

This is clearly a problem with the Garmin Connect upload page.

I am having the same issue as described here. After installing the communicator and receiving the confirmation that is working correctly, the Garmin Connect site does not recognize the upload request and says 'Garmin Communicator Plugin is not supported by your browser.."

Anybody else seen or fixed this issue?

    Thx!
