GPSmap 62s...display saved tracks

I wrote and asked Garmin Customer Support about my desire to display, in my new 62s, at all times my saved named tracks loaded from MapSource/BaseCamp. The tracks are information collected over the years previous snowmachine rides in the wilds of Alaska, edited in MapSource...I want the tracks displayed like roads, always on...I have these tracks loaded on my both map76's, the one I run with and the one I carry as backup and they are visible all the times. I do NOT have to select the saved track from the list and then turn it on...Why Tracks instead of Routes. Simple, no more activating routes, no remembering cryptic names, no pressing little buttons in the dark at 35 mph. Just steer to the nice easy to see, always on, solid dark line on the screen. No bread crumbs to confuse with contour lines. I purchased the 62s because I wanted color and it had the capability of more saved tracks 20 vs. 10.

This was Garmin Reply...

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

I will be happy to assist you with your GPSMap 62s today, Richard.

The 62s will only allow you to view 1 track at a time on the screen of the unit.

Please reply for further assistance.

That was it. So, I called and spoke with C/S. They did not offer any suggestions. They appeared to be flummoxed when I informed them that the old, and cheap, GPSmap 76 did exactly what the new high $ 62s can't.

My question to you folks, is there a work around? This is a game breaker as far as keeping the 62s. The strange thing is that when I first loaded the tracks from MapSource they where all there all the time. They did not have the colors assigned as I had in MapSource, but they where there. Twas after I added two additional tracks to the saved tracks that they all went away. I can select them and view them on the map but I have to select them one at a time...just like routes.

Thanks kids,
Richard

The best way to have your cake and eat it too, in your case is to transform these tracks into an img file.
Google Antyong ezIMG for a free utility http://antyong.com or GPX2IMG for a relatively cheap utility, a bit nicer too, as you can change the way the tracks display.

Score another one for tech support.

This functionality can be done by using the track manager. You have to select the track in question and choose the 'Show On Map'. This can be done with multiple tracks at once and even when another route is actively being navigated.

note archived tracks do not have this option until you make them a favorite in the track manager.

    Enjoy!

Even though you can show your tracks using the Track Manger. It sure is a pain. I wish "Show on Map" was the default. I absolutely hate this part. I'm tired of going through all my tracks to show them on the map. If you do an update, again show all the tracks uggggggg. I'm like partychief, years of saved tracks for snowmobiling. It is too hard to stop when your riding to stop and figure out which track I need to show on the map. It seems to be a never ending battle.
