265T will not boot

Suddenly (after using it just over the weekend), my nuvi 265T will not boot up.

Turning the power on or plugging it in to a power source via a USB cable produces the same steps:

1. The initial "GARMIN" with the blue triangle over the N
2. The next screen adds "nuvi 265 copyright 2010 etc."
3. The third screen is screen one plus "Loading Maps"
4. dark

This repeats forever.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong? Of course, I'm a year past the measly ONE-YEAR warranty!

Got it to boot by pressing the UPPER-LEFT-HAND corner of the screen, plugging in the USB cable and waiting 20 or so seconds.
