Dakota 20 with Heart Rate Monitor

That's a very good question and one for which I too am looking for an answer.

I've just gone and bitten the bullet and purchased the Heart Rate Transmitter and awaiting Amazon to deliver it, but cannot find any info as to what you can actually do with this data (if anything).

I'd like to think that in some software, somewhere, one is able to use this information to calculate such things as Calories burned etc - that would be the most useful benefit I'd have thought.

Any info your end ??

I asked the same thing on geocaching.org and was told heart rate info is logged with the track info. Yes it will be uploaded to Garmin Connect and will display min/max/avg. Again this is just the reply to my question. I have yet to see it in action.

any news on this subject? I also consider to buy the heart rate monitor.

Looking on the GPS I have worked out how to change a display item on the "Trip Computer" page to be "Heart Rate".

I am however wondering if the heart rate data will be available on Garmin Connect i.e. will it just be imported automatically, and show perhaps in a similar way as with the elevation data? Also will an average heart rate / average moving heart rate be available?

In Dakota 20 Heart Rate setting is under "Trip Computer"
Open Trip Computer
Heart rate is in same category with "Cadence"
touch "Cadence" (or the bottom right item above character size)
scroll down the manual you will see Heart Rate
