activity search resetting

I'm not sure if this is the same for everyone, but on osx in chrome and safari, when I use the search function under explore, every time after I click on an activity to look at the details and hit back on my browser, the form data is gone and I have to redo the search entirely. I try to open each item in a new tab to prevent this, but I sometimes forget.
