Just bought a Garmin 205W here in Abu Dhabi. Overall, it'll suit me perfectly, as only using it for putting customers addresses in and the occasional trip over to Oman/Doha. I do have a couple of niggles though, not sure if they are permenant, or whether it's just me being a tard. Garmin forums seemed the best place to start...
1.) I got the most recent map update for the middle east. downloaded it 27th December. There is a road right outside my house that has been open for 6 months (2 lane, dual carriage way), yet the map thinks it isn't connected to the roundabout right outside my compound. There is also a new bridge from the main road into Abu Dhabi (only opened a few weeks ago). Neither show up in this map, the one outside my house tries to give me a 20km detour (not really important since I know that road),and the other one thinks I'm flying accross the sea on the way to work. Is there a way to add roads manually to the data,or am I at the mercy of the next map update (free map updates end in February 2011).
2.) I was wondering if I can download maps from other regions for when we move away from here, however it appears not. Are these things region locked? is there away around this?
