Nuvi 3790T fails to mention certain turns

I just got a new Nuvi 3790T and overall am quite pleased with it. However, last night I encountered a problem which happened a second time this morning. In the case of some "gentle" turns (i.e., bearing left instead of turning hard left,) the device's spoken instructions and turn list fail to mention them, instead acting as if one were simply staying on the road one is already on. For example, I'll turn onto East Blvd,. and the device will say, "continue 4.3 miles on East Blvd, then turn right on E. 18th St." However, that is not what the route shows. Instead, the route actually entails travelling, say, 1 mile on East Blvd, then bearing left on Chester Ave., then continuing on Chester Ave. for 3.3 miles, then turning on E. 18th St. This causes me to erroneously think I am still on East Blvd rather than Chester Ave, and to potentially miss a turn because I'm thinking I'm supposed to stay on East Blvd. rather than turning on Chester.

Here's a screenshot from the example I just described:

As you can see, it has me driving on East Blvd and then continuing on Chester. But, the unit doesn't say "continue on Chester" or "bear left on Chester" or anything like that.

Perhaps that's not the greatest example because the road at least continues relatively straight. Here's a better one. What's happening here is that I'm driving down Fairmount and am supposed to bear right onto Coventry. Granted, it's a bearing right instead of a hard turn. But the unit doesn't mention this. The next direction ("turn left on Shaker Blvd" or something) is simply given as though I were still on Fairmount. I was driving this route last night and continued straight on Fairmount instead of turning right onto Coventry because the unit said I had another several tenths of a mile to go before my next turn.

Anyone else have this problem or know whether it's been reported to Garmin?

    Hi

I cannot help too much except to say that I too have had similar problems where the voice command misses a cross road or T junction where I should be taking a turn. The route shown on the map itself clearly shows these turnings.

I am new to the world of GPS and have been testing the 3790T around areas well known to me so at the moment these errors are not too damaging. But, in an unfamiliar town they could cause serious problems.

I cannot be sure if this just a problem with my unit, or is a 3790T matter or even a general Garmin GPS issue with its maps.

It would be good to hear if others have similar problems.
