Hi,
I have just upgraded to a Nuvi 1490T, I have a Nuvi 310D with all my favourites on it. Is there any way to transfer them over to the new unit?

thanks in advance

I just did that last night, based on information from another thread.

    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=14165&highlight=current.gpx

Favorites are stored in the file current.gpx.

You want to backup up the current.gpx file on your new device "just because".
Then copy the current.gpx file from your old device to your new device (I copied from old device to computer and then from computer to new device).

    Good luck.

    HI,
thanks for the reply , I tried this but there is no gpx folder under the garnin folder so I put it in the gpx directory off the root, but this had no effect and it just put the same 3 garmin defaults back in... I mut be doing something wrong.

also the file on the new 1490 is 41kb and the one off my 310d is 8kb whch seems a little odd..

    cheers

That's where I put my old file with my favorites, in the GPX folder off of the device root.

My new file was 2k and my old one with favorites is about 200k. (I think mine was only 2k because I already had manually deleted the Garmin default locs on the new device.)

Just in case, looking at your file sizes, double check and make sure that you didn't confuse new and old files when you were moving things around, and end up just putting the original file back where it was to begin with.
