How to Manually Modify and Uploaded Acitvity ?

What I'm looking to be able to do is add data to a uploaded history file.

Does anyone know how to do this?

For example....If I have an activity which I have uploaded and I want to manually add data for a variable which was not available for upload, how can I do this?

Let say a device does not give calories consumed, therefore this is not uploaded.....however if I have an approximation on what that would be (based on heart rate average and time, plus other personal details such as age, weight vo2max etc)......how can I add this to an uploaded history.

Im not so interested in entering as a manual activity as that would mean I loose the heart rate trace which I would want to see to see.

Any suggestions welcome...

In your activity screen, click on the pencil icon, just to the right of the word Summary. That will put you in edit mode, and you can add or modify any of the fields at the summary level. Then click Save at the bottom when you are done.

Be aware that there is some weirdness about the heart rate field if you have your heart rate default set to zones....

Unfortunately I have hit a snag.... I get the following errors.....

Your "Avg Speed" value is not within permissible limits.

Your "Max Speed" value is not within permissible limits.

I have both values at Zero.... as I do not have a recorded speed

Note there is no distance traveled....which is correct as in this case I was stationary, but exercising.

Any suggestions on how to get around this issue?
  • Semantics I know, but you do have an average speed as the wheel has turned which would give a 'theoretical' distance moved. But I understand where you are coming from.

Unfortunately, Garmin have in their infinite wisdom, decided that some fields must have values. This has been noted before. Until they get around to allowing null entries (most likely never), you will just have to enter an acceptable value.

Hi... No I do not have an average speed as was stationary....

The issue here is trying to use a 705 for activitives other than cycling...ie cross training, and trying to record data for a training diary.

The problem is with their devices being to specific to a particular exercise... eg the 705 will not give you some variables if there is no speed...eg calories consumed only works if there is a speed.....

So if you are trying to track health related data for exercises with out a speed if does not work.

Which is a problem if say you do cross training....

    Overall Distance

Just reading you news feed and on some of my earlier training rides in the gym using their bikes I would like to add the distance but can not find out a way to do this.

All the edits from the dashboard or activities do not allow you to change these details, do you know where I can do this :)

I'm fairly sure you can change this as "Gerrycan" suggests.

If I go into to edit mode as he mentions I can see that you can change the distance value.

You have to View the activity and then select the pencil icon to edit as he suggests
