Goals - Time frame options

Is there any way a "1 year" option could be added to the "Measured Over" data field in the goal creation page? Right now the max time-frame seems to be 1-month.

I've set a goal to hike 1000 miles in 2011, and it would be great if I could keep track of this in Garmin Connect.

I agree. I have also set a goal to run 1000 miles in 2011. I can only find a way to do 1 month goals of 84 miles.
