Is it safe to swim with my 405CX?

I am a triathlete and recently purchased the 405cx. I'm a little afraid to take it into the pool for swimming as I am afraid it will stop working. Any thoughts?

There is a CAUTION on page iv of the Introduction section of the manual:

"The forerunner is not intended to be used while swimming".... etc.
