Garmin never cares even if billions of users complain about Bing maps

How much do the unhappy users pay to use GC? Not even a penny. It doesn't really matter how many users complain about Bing maps or how many decide to leave for alternative services. Nothing times a billion is still nothing. On the other hand, Garmin must be getting something from Microsoft. Switching to Bing maps was a business decision which would never be reversed. Unless of course the decision turns out to be affecting the business negatively.

I would go to major internet shopping sites such as amazon.com and write product reviews for Garmin products to let the potential buyers know that Garmin Connect no longer uses Google maps but Microsoft Bing maps and how you like Bing maps so that they can make informed purchase decisions.

I think we should give this about three more days and then we simply start posting reviews on Amazon.com etc to show our discontent.

Because you are right; there is no added revenue from the software, but there's a chance to reduce revenue which would affect them in a way they give a .... about....

btw; I talked to support yesterday and they said no return to Google, so we might as well take this "to the streets" if we want it to change back...
  • The Amazon campaign has begun...

I just saw this customer review, posted 30 November, under an Edge 500 listing:
Garmin Edge no longer offers Google maps,

Visit the Garmin Connect forums and look over the user complaints for Garmin's recent switch to Bing maps in place of Google Maps. A huge downgrade from Google maps (especially if you live outside the USA) and absolutely no choice between Google and Bing.

A huge step down for Garmin.
